No material alterations or demolitions of historic landmarks can occur until the Historic Landmarks Commission has issued a Certificate of Appropriateness for the intended action.  The Historic Landmarks Commission can delay the demolition of a historic landmark for up to 365 days.
A Minor Works Certificate of Appropriateness regulates minor alterations, such as the addtion of an awning or a sign.  A Full Certificate of Appropriatness regulates major changes.  Click on the hyperlink below to review the appropriate application form.  If you have questions, contact the Historic Landmarks Commission at 704-376-9115.

The Design Review Committee will meet on November 30, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. in the Commission's office located at 2100 Randolph Road, Charlotte, N.C.   Click here for the agenda.  The Committee does not meet in the month of July.
