Mid-Century Modern

The 1950s and 1960s was a time of bold innovation in American architecture.  Influenced by the School of Design at North Carolina State, several Charlotte architects, including Murray Whisnant and Praise Connor Lee, broke with tradition and designed buildings that rejected traditional notions of beauty.  These mid-century designs have fallen out of favor with many home buyers today.  Preservationists can play a major role in keeping this important legacy alive.

Praise Connor Lee Designed This Home As His Family Residence.
